Loon with Baby

Terry carved this for my sister Trina who always said she'd believe it when she saw it as he was always promising to carve her one. Well now she has one. He carved this the winter of 2014-15 and won a blue ribbon in the Fur Rondy Artistry in Wood show.

Stellars Jay

The Stellars Jay's love Peanuts. They are on our deck all the time begging for them. So Terry wanted to carve one. He did this the Winter of 2014-15 it won a blue ribbon at the Fur Rondy's Artistry in Wood Show.

Chickadees

These two little guys will be flying south.

Gambels Quail

The Gambels Quail is for a friend in Arizona who has these in their yard all the time. It's the first time Terry carved one of these and overall he's pleased with the end results.

Red Breasted Nuthatch Trio

Terry really enjoyed carving this trio of Nuthatches. I'm happy to say I'm keeping them for me.

Rufous Hummingbird's

Terry was commissioned to carve this pair as a Christmas gift.  They were a first and he so enjoyed carving them, especially the painting.  He switched to oil paints after taking a class at Krausman's Woodcarving Studio in Michigan this last August and really likes painting with oils.  At the moment the Hummingbird's are gracing our living room until they fly home two days before Christmas.

Couple of Loons

The finished Loon is a half size representation.  The unfinished Loon is a three quarter sized one.  Terry wants to put a baby on its back with the head turned to look at it.  It's for my sister who has wanted him to carve her a Loon for some time, she's a little skeptical she'll ever see one sitting at her house.  Terry is determined to prove her wrong :):):)  He plans on getting started with it next time home, but knows with summer coming it won't get finished til next winter.  As Carving season winds down summer projects and fishing will prevail.  Until then enjoy!
