This adorable chickadee "flew" right into our house & hearts...bringing with it just a smidgen of snow. Might name her "Stell"- short for "stellar"...as Terry's impeccable craftsmanship captures the minutest details, color-tones and life-like character...making us wonder when she's going to start singing! We're all enjoying her as the "latest and greatest" addition to our home and we're happy to say the "snow's not melting"!
Welcome to Quack Shack Carvings! I, Rhonda, started this blog for Terry so that interested family and friends could see what he's working on and completed. He will be doing the carving I'll be blogging, computers are not Terry's thing.
Terry was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. His Dad worked on the Alaska Railroad so as a kid he was able to explore Alaska via the rail. His second favorite past-time is Fall Fishing for Silver Salmon on the Kenai River. We live on a lake; where we feed and enjoy watching the wildfowl. In 2006 he took a few duck carving classes and discovered a new passion. It has resulted in the pieces displayed here.
Terry's work schedule gives him the time he wants and needs to spend time carving. That's why in 2009 we spent the time and money to build a studio to work in. Pictures of it are posted in the blog.
Terry would like it if you became a follower of his carvings. Also click on any of the pictures to get a larger detailed version of the carving. Please leave comments as we would appreciate your feedback.
Oh these chickadees are all so stinking adorable. And so realistic!!! Makes me want to touch 'em.
